Laaz
Rockit were the first band ever to cancel their appearance at
Dynamo Open Air, way back in 1986! Two years later they more than made
up for it. Dynamo 1988 belonged to these Bay Area Krunchers. Let see if
they still have it. Of course Laaz Rockit will appear in the only line-up
that matters: that of 'Know Your Enemy'! They call it Euroshima! |

Holland's
best ever death metal band also reunites in their "classic" line-up. That
means Jan-Chris de Koeijer (vocals/bass), Ed Warby (drums), Boudewijn Bonebakker
(guitar) en Frank Harthoorn (guitar). And where else could they better
play their first show than at Dynamo Open Air? |

We
can hardly call Jon Oliva a "newcomer" - he played Dynamo twice before
with Savatage! - but his new band is! With the uncertain future of Savatage
in mind we are very proud that Jon has selected Dynamo 2005 to present
his Pain to the world. And of course we hope he throws in a couple of Sava-classics
too. Please?! |

And
yet another "classic" reunion. He who says death metal, means Obituary.
Often imitated but never equaled. Their short european club tour in October
proved they are still very much on top of their game. Now more than ever.
How a few years off can work miracles... Obituary rulez! |

Combine
the talents of two former Helloween musicians and that of the best young
singer in Europe and you'll end up with Masterplan. A very appropiate name
indeed for a mega-act to be. Don't expect Helloween-like"happy" metal, but a very modern, serious, compelling and sometimes
even little progressive sound. Their recent album "Aeronautics" was voted
album of the month in Aardschok and many other european magazines. Enough
said! |

Dynamo
would not be Dynamo if there wasn't something to discover.
Mercenary is still relatively unknown, but Dynamo 2005 will change
all that. The danish sixpiece casually combines "swedish" death metal with
modern "american" metal, giving it a new twist while along the way. Pay
special attention to the interaction between their two leadsingers. Brutal! |

|
Swedish five-piece Evergrey are a well-oiled progressive metal machine.
If you don't believe us, check out any of their five studio albums or
better even, the brand new double live affair 'A Night To Remember'. By
the way, the DVD with the same title will see the light of day at Dynamo
2005. Good reason for a little party! |
 |
Although a lot more 'metal' than 'core', one could label Trivium as a
metalcore band. But the four-piece from Orlando, Florida are miles ahead
of most competitors in the genre. Trivium actually write songs, in the
true sense of the word. And... they have a singer who can really sing!
How refreshing. Check out 'Ascendancy', their killer new album, and
you'll know what we're talking about. |
 |
Although this six-piece from Vancouver, Canada fire on two vocal
cilinders, they are definetely NOT a nu-metal band. Nor are they emo-,
screamo-, or whatever core. 3 Inches Of Blood are old school METAL with
a new millennium twitch. Think Judas Priest on steroids. Think Iron
Maiden in a Ferrari. With King Diamond shrieking for help. Metal as
fuck! |
 |
Dynamo 2005 will be opened by Still Remains: six men from Detroit 'Rock City' who play furious metalcore. But hold on, there's more to Still Remains than just blasting your head off. 'Of Love And Lunacy', Still Remains' second album - to be released a week before Dynamo - proves that the band has a great ear for beautiful and catchy melodies too.
